Rubber Bush

The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.

Water lubricated Rubber Bearing Bush

FSS rubber bearing bush are made from an outer metal shell bonded with synthetic rubber. The outer shell can be made from various shells such as carbon steel, stainless steel, bronze, aluminium, engineering plastic like PTFE, Nylon 66 and so on.

FSS water lubricated bearings are mainly used for Vertical Submersible pumps & motors. Our bearings with high quality rubber do not damage the shaft sleeve and offer smooth rotation of the shaft over a long period of time.

We are dedicated to build perfect parts each time…

Inspection of Inner Diameter with reference to Outer diameter with Go-no Gauge Optimal Concentricity within microns to reduce uneven bearing wear, vibration and noise.

Internal machining & grinding as per specifications All inspection through mandrel to maintain true center Every bearing is tested using plug gages, then visually inspected and approved before shipment

Features of our Water Lubricated Bearing

  • Energy Saving:- When rubber comes in contact of water, it creates a slippery surface resulting in low coefficient of friction. As a result, energy losses are reduced.
  • Vibration Absorption:- FSS bearing are composed of soft rubber and are concentric with equal size bearing grooves to suppress the abnormal vibration of the rotating shafts.
  • Protection of shafts :- During contamination, the grooves inside rubber remove sand particles, pebbles or slurry automatically along with the water. As a result, water lubricated bearing prevent shafts & sleeves from any major wear & tear to make them last for longer time. The elastic properties of rubber allows grit and dirt to press into its surface until they are flushed out, protecting the shaft from scoring - unlike hard surface materials that can cause excessive shaft wear.
  • When starved of water, rubber will not wipe or fail in a sudden catastrophic manner like hard surface materials. Rubber can crystallize but will always maintain its form.
  • Each rubber landing area acts as an independent bearing surface.
  • Rubber bearings always have contact area due to the elastomeric properties.

The Water Wedge Principle minimizes bearing and journal wear.

The elastic characteristic of the rubber polymer allows the landing surface to deform and create a natural pocket allowing a hydrodynamic lubricating film to completely separate the bearing surface and the shaft. At this stage the coefficient of friction is well under 0.001, reducing “system wear” to a negligible amount.

A seal is created at the leading and trailing ends and bearing “land” areas causing hydrodynamic grit rejection. Abrasive grit is flushed out through alternating grooves, protecting the shaft from damage.

Rubber Water-Lubricated Bearings, The Environmental Solution for Marine Industry

Water lubricated rubber bearings offer an alternative solution to the ever growing concerns of environmental restrictions, the high costs of maintenance and the replacement in today’s marine industry. How are rubber-lined bearings an alternative? They use water as the lubricant. This concept is very important because if water is used rather than oil, contamination seals are not required. If seals are not required, pumps and tanks may not be necessary. This leads to a simpler shaft bearing system and immediate cost savings. This also leads to prevent any oil spillage in sea water.

Johnson Cutless Strut or Aft Stern Tube Flanged Bearings

Flanged Bearings are centrifically cast naval brass with an integral flange for bolting to stern tube or strut housing to retain bearing and prevent rotation in housing. Shells are heavy walled providing structural strength and can be step turned if desired. Shells are furnished un-drilled unless specified.

  • Available in solid and split design

Johnson Cutless Strut or Aft Stern Tube Split Flanged Bearings

Split styles offer ease of installation and change. Shells are heavy walled providing structural strength and can be step turned if desired. Flanged Bearings are centrifically cast naval brass with an integral flange for bolting to stern tube or strut housing to retain bearing and prevent rotation in housing. Shells are heavy walled providing structural strength and can be step turned if desired. Shells are furnished un-drilled unless specified.
